A SPECIAL NOTE TO STUDENTS LIVING IN OFF-CAMPUS HOUSING:

Dear Residential Life students living in off-campus housing (not including the Everly Apartments or Moonrise Hotel  Off-Site not handled by MaRs)

Dear Students Living In Off Campus Housing

During these unprecedented times, we have all had to navigate our way through rapidly-evolving circumstances. Mail and Receiving Services (MaRs) here at Washington University is no different. We will be changing some operations in our student mail operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The changes we will be implementing could change at any time depending on health and safety regulations. The health and safety of the faculty, staff, and student on campus is a top priority. For the most up to date information, check out our Facebook page, WashUMaRs, visit our website at mailservices.wustl.edu, or send us an email at mail@wustl.edu.

With living in an off-campus apartment, it is important that you use your correct address. Make sure you include your apartment number and the correct zip code for all mail and packages per example below.

Important Address Information (same for all delivery services)

First and Last Name

Apartment address and APT #

St. Louis MO zip code

The US Postal Service will deliver mail and USPS packages directly to your apartment. The University does not have access to your apartment mailbox.   USPS has access to each building to deliver letter mail and packages into the building safely and securely. If living in the Moonrise Hotel, please include the MSC# (Mailstop Code) that is included in your housing assignment details.

Other delivery providers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and Amazon, do NOT have access to your apartment building to deliver packages securely. If there is no one in the apartment to receive the package, the carriers have been instructed to deliver packages to the University Village Student Mail Center on campus at 6985 Snow Way. Upon delivery to the Village House Mail Center, packages will be placed into a parcel locker depending on availability and size of the package. Students will then receive an email and text notification for the package. Parcel lockers will be available for pick up at any time 24/7. Packages that we are unable to put into parcel lockers due to package volume or size will be placed on a shelf behind our counter. Students will also receive an email and text notification when this happens.

At times carriers leave packages unattended in an unsecure location outside apartment buildings. There will be a sign on the entrances directing all carriers to not leave packages outside the building.   Wash U MaRs will do our part to help ensure you receive all your mail and packages. If you find packages outside the entrance, please take a picture of the package with the tracking number so we can follow up with the delivery provider and email to mail@wustl.edu.

Students will be required to schedule an appointment to pick up any packages from the counter. Students will also be required to schedule an appointment to send letter mail or packages from the mail center. You will receive a link to our scheduling site in the package email notification you receive from the University. Follow the signs directing you to the appropriate set of lockers.
